Teaching Assistant – Long-Term Position

Location: Wakefield areaPosition: Full-Time, Long-TermStart Date: ASAPSalary: Competitive, based on experience

Reed Education are needing experienced Teaching Assistant's to join primary schools in the Wakefield area due to high volumes of available roles. These long-term roles involves supporting the pupils, fostering a positive learning environment for young children. If you are a dedicated and proactive individual who can confidently manage challenging behavior and lead when necessary, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher with daily activities throughout EYFS, KS1 aor KS2.
  • Lead small intervention groups to support children's learning and development.
  • Observe and track children's progress to aid in individual planning.
  • Help plan and deliver engaging activities that stimulate children's learning.
  • Set up and maintain resources to create a productive learning environment.
  • Support children with challenging behavior using a positive and nurturing approach.
  • Take charge of the class in the teacher's absence, ensuring a calm and productive atmosphere.

We Are Looking For:

  • Relevant qualification in Early Years Education, Key Stage One or Key Stage Two.
  • Experience of working in UK primary school.
  • Strong understanding of the curriculum in either Early Years, Key Stage One or Key Stage Two.
  • Ability to manage the class effectively in the teacher's absence.
  • Confidence in handling challenging behavior with a calm and consistent approach.
  • A proactive, flexible team player passionate about children's learning and development.
