Job title: Teaching assistant

Location: Andover, Hampshire.

Salary: £85 to £105 a day.

Contract type: long term

About the Role:

Are you passionate about supporting young learners and making a real difference in the classroom? We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and welcoming primary school on a long-term basis, with the potential to become a permanent member of staff.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with class teachers to support pupils across a range of abilities and year groups. Your role will be vital in helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils in their academic, social, and emotional development
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
  • Delivering small group interventions and one-to-one support
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting the school’s values
  • Helping to assess and track pupil progress
  • Passionate about education and child development
  • Patient, nurturing, and adaptable
  • A strong communicator and team player
  • Ideally experienced in a school or childcare setting (but not essential)
  • Committed to the long-term success of the pupils and the school

 Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant qualifications or experience working with children is desirable
  • Experience working in a school in the UK.
  • Be able to reliably commute to Andover.
