Job Description
Saleroom Assistant
- Annual Salary: £25,397
- Location: Derby
- Job Type: Full-time (Varied Hours between 09:00 – 18:00)
Reed are collaborating with a rapidly growing family-run auction business. They are looking for a friendly, active, enthusiastic, and committed individual to become an integral part of our fast-paced business.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Handle a wide range of valuable items, from large pieces of furniture and paintings to delicate ceramics and glass.
- Assist with day-to-day saleroom duties including customer service, and stock management.
- Assist with the preparation of internet catalogues.
- Receive, photograph, display, and process auction lots.
- Pick and pack purchased lots for dispatch.
- Support customers with loading their vehicles.
- Load and unload vans.
- Perform general duties including roles during viewing and sale days.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- GCSE in English Language (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent preferred.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with proficient written and spoken English.
- Good computer and internet skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodological approach to work.
- An interest in antiques and collectables is preferable, though no prior experience is necessary.
- Professional and positive attitude.
- Reliable and able to cope with a physically demanding role.
