Reed Crawley are working with a small, friendly, and growing accountancy practice where they support a diverse range of SMEs, freelancers, and sole traders. They are dedicated to delivering personal, proactive service and utilising cloud-based tools to simplify our clients' financial management. This role is ideal for a part-qualified accountant eager to develop in a supportive, hands-on environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Manage bookkeeping and perform reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and MTD filings.
- Assist with management accounts and cash flow forecasts.
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide support.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Assist with personal and corporate tax returns.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Part-qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or AAT Level 3/4).
- 1β2 yearsβ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong working knowledge of Xero (certification preferred).
- Solid understanding of UK accounting and VAT rules.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Xero add-ons (e.g., Dext, Hubdoc).
- Experience with other cloud-based packages such as QuickBooks and Sage.
- Experience with Companies House and HMRC submissions.
