Job Description

Interim Office Manager – Primary School 

  • £20–£25 per hour (DOE)
  • Start: ASAP | Duration: Ongoing

A large, well-established primary school in the DN1 area of Doncaster is seeking an Interim Office Manager to join their team immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a busy school office within a respected academy trust, known for its commitment to excellence and community values.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Office Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the smooth running of the school’s administrative operations. Responsibilities include:

  • General Office Management: Overseeing daily operations of a busy school office, ensuring efficiency and professionalism.
  • Finance & Budgeting: Managing school budgets, processing invoices, and liaising with the central finance team.
  • HR Administration: Supporting recruitment, onboarding, absence management, and maintaining staff records.
  • Compliance & Safeguarding: Ensuring policies and procedures are followed, including safeguarding and GDPR.
  • Facilities Coordination: Liaising with site staff and external contractors to ensure the school environment is safe and well-maintained.
  • Communication: Acting as a key point of contact for staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Data & Reporting: Using school systems to maintain accurate records and produce reports as required.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in business management or office leadership, ideally within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of budget handlingHR processes, and financial administration.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience with school MIS systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor) is desirable but not essential.
