Nursery Room Leader

We are excited to announce that Reed is working in partnership with a local school and nursery in Plymouth to recruit a Nursery Room Leader. This role is crucial in the education and social development of babies and young children up to the age of five. As a Nursery Room Leader, you will create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow, design age-appropriate activities that foster social, emotional, and cognitive development, and lead a team of nursery staff.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Create and maintain a safe, stimulating environment for children to learn and grow.
- Design and implement age-appropriate play activities that encourage children's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Support learning and care, maintaining detailed records of children’s progress.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and carers.
- Provide leadership and support to other nursery staff.
- Ensure compliance with EYFS, SEN code of practice, OFSTED national standards, and all relevant policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 Qualified, CCLD, NNEB, CACHE, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Demonstrable ability to lead a team of staff within a nursery setting.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of EYFS, SEN code of practice, and OFSTED national standards.
- Clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Strong ICT, numeracy, and literacy skills.
