A great opportunity has arisen for a mechanical building services design engineer to join a well-established building services consultancy with a reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable M&E design solutions throughout various sectors including commercial and large scale domestic.
Job Description:
- Develop mechanical design solutions for HVAC, plumbing, and other building services systems.
- Produce detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports using AutoCAD and Revit (BIM Level 2).
- Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess existing systems and inform design decisions.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure coordinated designs.
- Support energy and thermal modelling activities and Part L compliance assessments.
- Assist in the preparation of performance specifications and tender documentation.
- Attend project meetings and liaise with clients to understand requirements and present solutions.
- Contribute to value engineering exercises and cost control discussions.
Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Hands on experience in mechanical building services design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with thermal modelling software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and sustainability principles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
