English & Maths Tutor
Greater Manchester
£28-30 per hour
Reed FE are thrilled to be working with a Greater Manchester Further Education College to recruit a Maths and English Tutor to plan, deliver and assess effective Functional Skills and GCSE lessons to maximise learner progress and achievement.
Day to day responsibilities
- Plan and deliver dynamic, inclusive lessons that inspire learner engagement and challenge.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to tailor learning pathways.
- Personalise teaching to individual learners.
- Promote high expectations to build confidence and aspirations.
- Manage classroom behaviour to foster a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Track progress and identify learners needing intervention for rapid improvement.
- Deliver impactful teaching across centres, groups, and individual learners.
- Champion safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety policies.
Requirements
- Teaching qualification (Level 4+).
- Maths and English L2 – (GCSE or Functional Skills).
- Recent experience teaching Maths and/or English to post-16 learners (e.g. in a training provider, college setting).
- Experience preparing learners for Entry 3 – Level 2, including Functional Skills, GCSE and GCSE resits.
- Evidence of up-to-date knowledge of post-16 curriculum requirements, assessment methods, and learner needs.
All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks. Reed Further Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment by completing mandatory training within 6 weeks of your first assignment and annually thereafter.
