Maintenance Team Member
  • Annual Salary: £25,500 – £26,000 p/a 
  • Location: Shropshire
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Join a well-established horticultural organisation in the beautiful Shropshire countryside as a Maintenance Team Member. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about plants and enjoys working outdoors. 

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Carry out various plant care tasks including watering, weeding, feeding, pruning, mowing, and general maintenance.
  • Assist with the planting, spacing, and labelling of trial plants.
  • Monitor plant health and report any signs of pests or disease.
  • Maintain clean, organised, and well-presented trial areas.
  • Operate horticultural equipment safely, with training provided if needed.
  • Work closely with the team leader to meet daily and seasonal priorities.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in horticulture, gardening, or outdoor work is beneficial but not essential.
  • A genuine interest in plants and gardening.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions with attention to detail.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • A team player with a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Additional qualifications (e.g., tractor/telehandler licence, PA1/PA6 spraying certification) are desirable but not required—training can be provided.
