Logistics & Export Manager – Manchester, United Kingdom. Full-Time (initial 6 month FTC).

Reed is currently recruiting for an experienced Logistics & Export Manager to join a well-established and innovative manufacturing business based in Manchester on an initial 6 month basis with a view to becoming permanent. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead export logistics operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), supporting the global distribution of various products.

Role Overview

As Logistics & Export Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the full export process from UK manufacturing sites to international customers. You’ll ensure shipments are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with international trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee international shipments via road, sea, and air (FCL, LCL, break-bulk)
  • Ensure compliance with Incoterms, export controls, and customs documentation
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers
  • Prepare and manage export documentation: commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, EUR1/ATR forms
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align shipping schedules with customer expectations
  • Monitor logistics KPIs and drive continuous improvement
  • Stay informed on regional developments affecting logistics operations
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in international logistics / export management
  • Strong understanding of Incoterms, export documentation, and EMEA customs regulations
  • ERP system experience and freight cost analysis skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
