Legal Support Assistant | Family Law Department | £26,000 - £30,000 | Hybrid (50/50) | Birmingham City Centre
We are pleased to be working with a respected national law firm to recruit a Legal Support Assistant to join their busy and supportive Family Law team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong administrative background in legal services who is looking to develop their career in a people-focused and emotionally intelligent area of law.
Based in Birmingham City Centre, this role offers a true hybrid working model with a 50/50 office and home split, providing flexibility and work-life balance.
The Role:As a Legal Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting fee-earners within the Family Department. You’ll be involved in a wide range of administrative and client-focused tasks, helping to ensure the smooth progression of sensitive and often complex family law matters.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing day-to-day administrative support to fee-earners in the Family Law team
- Preparing and formatting legal documents, court forms, and correspondence
- Managing diaries, booking appointments, and coordinating meetings
- Handling incoming calls and emails with professionalism and empathy
- Assisting with file opening, closing, and archiving in line with compliance procedures
- Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties
- Supporting with billing, time recording, and document management
- Maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards at all times
- Previous experience in a legal support or administrative role (family law experience is desirable but not essential)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A calm, empathetic, and professional approach when dealing with sensitive matters
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the role
- Competitive salary of £26,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience)
