We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join a school premises team to provide temporary cover. The successful candidate will support the Bursar and work under the guidance of the Premises Manager to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for both students and staff.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Maintain high standards in all areas of responsibility, ensuring safety and security at all times.
  • Conduct risk assessments and report any issues to the Premises Manager.
  • Serve as a key holder, attending the school in response to call-outs when required.
  • Perform regular inspections of the school buildings and grounds to ensure maintenance and health & safety issues are addressed.
  • Undertake light DIY work.
  • Set up the hall for various uses and assist with the organisation and supervision of events and parking as needed.
  • Manage deliveries and distribution within the school efficiently.
  • Act as a Fire Marshall and ensure the secure lock-up of school buildings and site.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Skilled in routine basic maintenance activities with a good working knowledge of health and safety requirements.
  • High professional standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance, and conduct.
  • Positive and courteous in interactions with all school stakeholders.
  • An enhanced DBS is required for this role.
