Are you a Junior / Intermediate Building Services Engineer looking for a role in the City? Our client are based in a brand new office in the heart of the City, looking for someone to come in on a hybrid basis after a bedding in period. We are looking for a proactive Junior/Intermediate Building Services Engineer to join our client's team in London. This role involves working on diverse projects, contributing to the design, development, and implementation of mechanical and electrical building services systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and specifying mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems, including HVAC, lighting, power, water, and sustainability solutions.
  • Prepare technical calculations, reports, and drawings in collaboration with Senior Engineers.
  • Support the development of sustainable and energy-efficient solutions in line with industry standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate building services into projects seamlessly.
  • Use industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, IES, Dialux, Amtech) to produce designs and models.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections to support project delivery.
  • Stay updated with UK building regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical, Environmental/Sustainability Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 1–4 years of experience in a building services consultancy or related field.
  • Familiarity with industry design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Dialux, Amtech).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Good communication and report-writing skills.
  • Enthusiasm for sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
  • Experience in the building services industry.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.

Desirable traits:

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and IES Virtual Environment packages.
  • Experience working on RIBA Stage 2-4 projects.
  • Understanding of UK planning and building control processes.
  • Proactive, with good communication skills and the ability to work well in a project team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong technical ability in all aspects of Mechanical Engineering Services.
