15 Month Fixed Term Contract
IT Project Manager
My client based in Reading are looking to recruit an experienced IT Project Manager; as well as having proven experience in technical change, you must have a background in delivering business change and good supplier management skills.
You will need to go to the office 2-3 times a week in Reading.
The role:
- You will be managing the activities of virtual project teams with members from across the business.
- Manage complex business and system changes according to portfolio requirements, following the agreed Project Management process and methodology
- Take responsibility for the definition, documentation, control and satisfactory completion of projects
- Ensure that project quality, change control and risk management processes are adhered to
- Ensure project budgets are well managed and kept within agreed tolerances
- Identify and document the success criteria for the project, and ensure that all necessary plans and controls are in place for successful project delivery
- Establish appropriate project teams (including external suppliers) in agreement with project Sponsor and Senior Programme & Project Manager.
- Produce regular and appropriate reports/feedback to project boards and stakeholders Manage the procurement processes for projects, working in liaison with the Procurement team and other stakeholders.
Experience sought:
- A proven background across IT change- software, data and infrastructure
- A thorough background in business change management
- Experience working with suppliers
- Be able to manage multiple concurrent projects/workstreams utilising their time appropriately
- Ability to undertake effective negotiations at all levels
- A proven ability to lead and facilitate discussion at senior levels of large organisations
- Able to build and maintain relationship across many different functions, organisational levels and external partners
