Interim Curriculum Manager – Maths (GCSE)

Location: FE College based in BlackburnContract: Interim, Full-Time (37 hours per week)Duration: Until Christmas initially whilst undergo permanent recruitment for the roleStart Date: ASAP

Are you an experienced leader in Maths education looking for an exciting interim opportunity? We are seeking a Curriculum Manager to take responsibility for the planning, implementation, and delivery of the GCSE Maths curriculum within a dynamic and forward-thinking educational environment.

The Role

As part of the management team, you will:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the Maths curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Drive curriculum planning, sequencing, and quality assurance processes.
  • Manage staff and student performance to achieve key outcomes in recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression.
  • Deliver a small teaching commitment – 2 days a week
  • Support operational planning, timetabling, and resource allocation.
  • Contribute to inspection readiness and quality improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree-level qualification and a recognised teaching qualification (Level 4 or above).
  • Strong track record in delivering and managing curriculum across multiple levels.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of curriculum structures, government policy, and quality assurance.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Understanding of OFSTED Education Inspection Framework.
  • Experience in managing people and leading change.
