Homemaker, Loader/Unloader

We are seeking a dedicated Homemaker to join our teaminSheffield with travel requirements throughout the city. This role involves operational responsibility for various housing functions, including customer interaction, property maintenance, and logistics. The Homemaker will also provide support and training to similarly graded staff and cover responsibilities of Housing Officers when required.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Drive various vehicles up to a 7.5-tonne limit to deliver furniture and perform property maintenance tasks across the city.
- Clean properties to an agreed standard and fit curtains, poles, tracks, and blinds.
- Perform gardening duties and manage stock, including the handling of abandoned furniture.
- Undertake recycling, sanitising, and cleaning of pre-used goods, including upholstery and carpets.
- Collect customer feedback and collate photographic and written evidence to highlight any breach of tenancy agreements.
- Conduct P.A.T testing and assist in the safe management of goods in and out of the warehouse.
- Perform pallet stacking using a counterbalance forklift truck.
- Assist in the management of health and safety procedures, perform administrative duties, and conduct stock auditing.
- Provide cover for other Supported Housing, Senior Housing Officers, and Housing Officers as needed.
- Attend to some responsibilities outside normal office hours as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to drive vehicles up to a 7.5-tonne limit (appropriate driving licence required).
- Experience in property maintenance, logistics, or a similar operational role.
- Competency in using tools and equipment for property upkeep and maintenance.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to adhering to council policies, especially those concerning Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety.
