Job Description

History & Politics Lecturer

  • Location: Northwest London
  • Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week
  • Salary: £30 to £35 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated History & Politics Lecturer to join our clients educational team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality education in the fields of history and politics, and who thrives in an academic environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging lectures and seminars in history and politics to students at various levels of higher education.
  • Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Assess students' progress by grading papers, exams, and other work.
  • Stay updated with developments in the subject area, teaching resources and methods.
  • Provide support and guidance to students during office hours.
  • Participate in departmental and faculty meetings, and contribute to curriculum development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in History, Politics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a lecturer or teacher in these subjects.
  • A Level 5 Teaching Qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment.
