Day-to-Day of the role
- Planning and Delivering Lessons: Design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the curriculum and the needs of the learners. This includes preparing teaching materials, using a variety of instructional methods, and adapting content for different learning styles and abilities.
- Assessing and Supporting Learners: Regularly assess student progress through assignments, exams and practical work. Also provide feedback, track performance and offer academic and pastoral support to help learners achieve their goals.
- Administrative and Professional Duties: Maintaining accurate records (e.g. attendance, grades), attending departmental meetings, participating in professional development, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding and health & safety regulations.
Requirements
- Relevant Qualifications and Subject Expertise: Level 3 or higher in Health or related subject along with a teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or DET or extensive FE teaching experience. Strong subject knowledge is essential to deliver accurate and engaging content.
- Effective Communication and Teaching Skills: You must be able to explain complex concepts clearly, adapt your teaching to different learning styles, and foster a positive learning environment. Strong interpersonal skills are vital for building rapport with students and colleagues.
- Organisational and Administrative Skills: You are expected to manage lesson planning, assessments, and record-keeping efficiently. You should be able to meet deadlines, follow institutional policies, and contribute to quality assurance and curriculum development.
