As a Head Chef, you will play a crucial role in providing appetising, nutritious meals and maintaining high standards of customer service and safety. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in a fast-paced environment, ensuring our catering provision consistently meets the highest standards.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee food storage, preparation, cooking, and serving procedures, ensuring adherence to labelling, temperature checks, allergy management, and effective implementation of the HACCP system.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, monitor due diligence records, and provide guidance on corrective actions.
  • Train and supervise Chefs and Assistant Chefs in food safety procedures, providing ongoing coaching and conducting risk assessments.
  • Ensure adherence to recipe specifications from the Nutritics system and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage the kitchen team to deliver excellent food provision for guests and colleagues, ensuring alignment with contracted hours and business requirements.
  • Utilise learning management systems to track training completion and workplace performance, providing regular feedback and supporting career progression.
  • Manage financial aspects of the food provision, including ordering, stock rotation, and waste management, to ensure maximum value for money and effective cost control.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role within the catering industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, capable of training and mentoring staff.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage cross-departmental relationships.
  • Commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
