Senior Accountant –

Location: Modern offices in a historic Suffolk town, right in the heart of the town centre. Minutes from the main bus station with routes servicing the surrounding area, plus free parking available nearby.

About the Company:

Our client is a highly respected firm of Chartered Certified Accountants, nominated for multiple industry awards including \”Best Independent Firm of the Year for East of England.\” They have engaged Reed Practice to recruit a talented Senior Accountant to join their growing team.

The Role:

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality services to a diverse client base. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies through to partner review level (predominantly SMEs).
• Drafting corporation tax computations, income tax computations for unincorporated businesses, and capital allowances computations.
• Undertaking bookkeeping and quarterly VAT returns for a variety of clients.
• Managing and resolving ad hoc bookkeeping, VAT, and accountancy queries.
• Overseeing the work of junior staff on accounts preparation jobs and acting as a mentor.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you must have proven experience in an accountancy practice, working to current UK regulations, and be confident in:

• Financial accounting for SMEs
• Bookkeeping
• VAT returns
• Corporate and income tax
• Capital allowances

You will qualified (ACCA, ACA, AAT) or qualified by experience, with strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and excellent communication abilities to liaise with clients and colleagues professionally.
