About the RoleWe are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join a dynamic Finance team. This is a key role responsible for maintaining robust financial controls, delivering accurate forecasts and budgets, and leading the Finance Team. The ideal candidate will be a part-qualified or finalist accountant with strong commercial insight and excellent analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly management accounts for business units and consolidated group accounts, with detailed analysis.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand cost and revenue drivers and explain variances.
- Provide daily financial support and challenge to operational and commercial teams.
- Conduct regular financial reviews with division heads, highlighting budget variances.
- Track and report on title investment performance and product profitability by channel, customer, and promotion.
- Manage month-end processes including journals, accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
- Analyse stock performance, including turnover, profitability, and obsolescence.
- Evaluate costs, pricing, sales results, and performance against business plans.
- Monitor production work in progress and provide variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and board packs.
- Lead month-end KPI reviews and complete VAT returns with full reconciliation.
- Oversee forecasting, annual budgeting, and the annual audit process.
- Manage group banking and financing activities, including invoice discounting and cash forecasting.
- Support finance teams across business units and handle ad hoc duties as required.
- Part or Finalist accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a solid grasp of accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Sage Intacct or similar systems is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage busy periods effectively.
