Interim Group Accountant
Location: Lincoln

Role Overview:
Reed finance are supporting a rapidly growing business based in Lincolnshire who are looking for an experienced and hands-on Interim Financial Controller to support a business during a period of financial transformation and operational improvement. This role will focus on strengthening financial controls, ensuring balance sheet integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Review the latest balance sheet accounts, supporting schedules, and working papers. Fully reconcile all balance sheet accounts to appropriate supporting documentation. Prepare missing schedules in line with GAAP, including fixed asset registers and other key reconciliations. Overhaul and update any substandard schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance. Build a complete suite of working papers covering all balance sheet accounts. Provide support and training to the Management Accountant to ensure high-quality monthly reconciliations and schedule maintenance.
- US Accounting & SAGE System Updates: Review imported transactions from US Orderwise into US SAGE for accuracy and completeness. Perform full bank reconciliations within the US SAGE system. Develop and maintain supporting balance sheet schedules for the US entity. Establish a structured month-end timetable and process for timely management reporting. Collaborate with US-based accountants to support monthly filings and compliance requirements.
- Project Support to the Fractional CFO: Conduct a review of the Purchase-to-Pay process and recommend improvements. Evaluate and enhance existing month-end close procedures. Overhaul and document credit control processes and procedures. Prepare weekly financial reports for senior management and the board. Undertake additional ad hoc financial projects as required.
Candidate Profile:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role, ideally with exposure to both UK and US accounting environments.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and familiarity with GAAP.
- Proficient in SAGE and comfortable working with ERP integrations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and develop junior finance staff.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
