Our client, Gloucestershire County Council, is seeking an agency Social Worker for its Fostering Support team. This role will last 6 months initially and is offering £35 umbrella per hour.
The role will involve the following:
- Agency Social Worker with experience in fostering will join the Fostering Support Team.
- Support and supervise foster carers to ensure they provide the best quality care to meet the needs of vulnerable children as set out in their care plan.
- Safeguarding is our priority, and we ensure that households comply with the National Minimum Standards for fostering.
- Supervise 190 fostering households in the team, run support groups and support with foster carer training.
- Fit into a busy but welcoming team, undertake annual reviews, hold a caseload, and help with identifying placements for children.
- Regular reflective supervision is prioritised by managers in the team, opportunities to learn and develop skills are available.
- Committed to a flexible workforce; hybrid model of working includes both working at home and in the office.
Requirements of the role:
- Qualified Social Worker
- Fully Social Work England registered
- 3 years post-qualified experience in employment of a local authority (DFE rules)
- Must have significant experience in a Fostering support role
