Reed have been exclusively appointed to recruit a commercially focused Finance Director to our client’s leadership team, due to retirement. This role is crucial in driving future performance and supporting the ambitions of this dynamic & fast-growing business, as they further expand into global markets.

The successful candidate will be a strategic partner within the company, ensuring financial robustness whilst navigating through a period of significant growth.

Working closely with the Managing Director and as part of a structured leadership team, the Financial Director will hold a varied and developing remit to include the following:

1. Provide expert financial guidance as a strategic partner to the Managing Director and Leadership Team
2. Develop a financial strategy that aligns with overall business objectives and delivers shareholders value
3. Communicate financial performance across the business, offering clear insights and actionable recommendations
4. Prepare financial statements ensuring compliance with Financial Reporting Standards
5. Monthly Reporting of accurate financials to the head office within strict deadlines
6. Prepare monthly management accounts and KPIs for Operational Board
7. Project Accounting and Gross Profit Margin Reporting
8. Stock Management Oversight and WIP reporting
9. Lead and manage transactional staff responsible for AR, AP & Payroll
10. Treasury Management, bank reconciliations and cashflow reporting
11. VAT Returns: UK, ROI, (& several other European countries)
12. Budgeting and Forecasting
13. Investment appraisals
14. Oversee HMRC Custom Returns
15. Further develop reporting on current software and integrate technology platforms
16. Liaison with Auditors, Tax Advisors, European Accountants and Banks

Required Skills & Qualifications:

1. You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) offering at least 10 years of progressive experience in financial roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a Financial Director/ Controller or similar senior position within a commercial organisation
2. Strong technological proficiency, with experience in using technology to enhance business efficiency
3. Proven leadership skills
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating complex financial information across the business
5. Experience within manufacturing/construction preferred
