Join our client, an independent Family Assessment Centre dedicated to providing specialist parenting assessments for Local Authorities and the Courts. We are seeking a motivated Family Support Worker to provide safety, support, care, and guidance to families undergoing assessments. This role is crucial in helping families reach their full potential through detailed monitoring, recording, and supportive interactions.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Work collaboratively with team members and other professionals (Social Workers, Police, Legal Services, Education, and Health) to assist families in achieving the targets set out in their placement plans.
  • Promote the development of key life skills and appropriate behaviours in parents, enhancing their practical management and nurturing skills through detailed observation and feedback.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of residents’ progress to support planning and team collaboration.
  • Safeguard children within the family centre and promote positive relationships between parents while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Operate on a 24-hour shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays, to provide continuous support.
  • Facilitate and support families in attending personal and specific appointments, including transportation needs with a business-insured vehicle.
  • Engage in regular supervision, team meetings, and required training sessions to enhance service delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Resilience and motivation with a calm, approachable manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
  • IT literacy and flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care is desirable, or willingness to work towards this qualification.
  • Experience working with vulnerable children and adults is preferred, though not essential as comprehensive training will be provided.
