YFS Class Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and nurturing EYFS Class Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in the Fylde area. This full-time role is based in the school’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision, supporting children in their first steps of learning. The successful candidate will lead a Reception class, fostering a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child can flourish.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework.
- Create a warm and inclusive classroom environment that supports children’s emotional, social, and academic development.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress through observations and learning journals.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure all children’s needs are met.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates and encouraging home-school collaboration.
- Promote early literacy, numeracy, and communication skills through creative and structured activities.
- Support children with transitions, routines, and behaviour management using positive reinforcement.
- Liaise with the EYFS Lead and SLT to contribute to whole-school development and best practice.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching in EYFS or a strong understanding of early childhood development.
- Knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity, patience, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
