Job Description

Examinations Manager
  • Annual Salary: £42,000 to £45,000, dependent on experience
  • Location: Derby
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

We are seeking an Examinations Manager to lead our Examinations Team, providing an excellent service for all college students and staff. This role involves the administration of all academic and vocational examinations and ensuring compliance with Awarding Organisation and JCQ regulations.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage and administer all aspects of examinations and assessments across multiple campuses.
  • Develop and maintain efficient examination processes in line with College and Awarding Organisations' requirements.
  • Lead the timetabling and facilitation of examinations, ensuring appropriate facilities are available.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders, facilitating easy access to examination processes.
  • Manage and train a team of 8 Exams Assistants and Sessional Invigilators.
  • Oversee the recruitment of Sessional Invigilation staff.
  • Liaise with curriculum staff to ensure alignment with educational regulations and deadlines.
  • Communicate examination regulations and processes effectively to students and parents.
  • Maintain and report on examination data, ensuring compliance with data protection and JCQ/AO regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Examinations Manager, managing JCQ regulated qualifications.
  • Extensive knowledge of examination board requirements across various AOs and qualifications.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop examination procedures and systems.
  • Excellent IT skills, with experience in EBS Exams systems or similar.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining professional relationships.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and improve systems.
  • Level 2 maths and English; Full Driving Licence and use of own car.
