Join our dedicated team at North London College as a Lecturer in ESOL and IT. This role is ideal for a committed educator who is passionate about teaching ESOL, Employability, Functional Skills Maths, and ICT to a diverse group of learners including 16–18-year-olds and adults.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Teaching ESOL and/or IT courses to adult learners in community settings and fostering a positive learning environment.
- Work closely with team members as a main course tutor or co-tutor to provide necessary support to learners.
- Manage all required record-keeping and administer the RARPA process for course delivery.
- Contribute to quality control and review mechanisms effectively.
- Participate in College Open Days, Advice & Guidance, and Career events.
- Provide professional service to both internal and external customers.
- Uphold the College’s policies, including health and safety, equality, diversity, and safeguarding requirements.
- Engage in continuous professional development and support team members as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A degree or relevant qualifications in the subject area.
- A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd).
- Specialist qualification such as Cambridge CELTA or Trinity TESOL Certificate.
- Minimum of 3 years’ ESOL teaching experience across various levels and experience in tutorial support.
- Experience teaching ICT is desirable.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
