For over 60 years, Reed’s engineering and manufacturing specialists have been recruiting professionals for permanent, temporary and contract positions. We are currently working with an organisation in Mid Essex who are looking to hire an Electronics Design Engineer. Our client is a leading manufacturer of life sciences equipment, with an international client base. This is a newly created position to support with the continued growth and investment in their product range.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze product needs for electrical/electronic systems in ultra-low temperature freezers.
  • Design, release, and maintain systems/components, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Develop testing procedures and write technical reports and manufacturing instructions.
  • Investigate and resolve failure modes, focusing on quality and cost.
  • Support operations with installation sustainment and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

Education: BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

Experience: Extensive experience in product development.

Skills: System, PCB, and cable harness design; testing and troubleshooting; knowledge of compliance and certification (UL, EMC); strategic planning and hands-on approach; familiarity with DFM, FMEA, ISO 9001.

Personal Attributes: R&D capability, analytical and problem-solving skills, project focus, team orientation, excellent communication, understanding of end user requirements, cross-functional teamwork, ability to meet deadlines.
