We are seeking a dedicated SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a team at a specialist school catering to primary level students with varying learning abilities due to autism. This role offers both long‑term opportunities and day‑to‑day supply work, ideal for those who are flexible and passionate about making a difference in special education.

Day‑to‑day of the role

• Work closely with a small class size, providing tailored support to students with autism.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Employ specialised strategies to promote engagement and learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to enhance the educational environment and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Provide emotional and social support to students, helping them develop skills necessary for academic and personal success.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and abilities of students.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, specifically within SEN settings.
• Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with autism and other special educational needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of the students.
• A compassionate and patient approach.
• Relevant qualifications in Education or Special Educational Needs are preferred.
