Are you an experienced educator and leader looking for a short-term opportunity to make a meaningful impact? We are seeking a Curriculum Area Leader in Biology, Chemistry and Applied Science to join this fantastic FE College on a temporary basis until Christmas, working 3 days per week.

About the Role

As Curriculum Area Leader, you will provide dynamic leadership within a curriculum area, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, and outcomes for students. You’ll foster a culture of continuous improvement and support staff development, curriculum planning, and student progress monitoring across the science curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage curriculum delivery and development in Biology, Chemistry and Applied Sciences
  • Support and coach teaching staff, overseeing performance and planning
  • Monitor student progress, attendance, and achievement
  • Manage curriculum resources, timetabling, and budget
  • Promote courses and celebrate student success
  • Contribute to whole-college planning and quality improvement

What We’re Looking For

  • Honours degree and PGCE (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in teaching and curriculum leadership within the Sciences
  • Strong communication, planning, and team leadership skills
  • Commitment to student success and continuous improvement
  • Ability to inspire trust and motivate others
  • Proven track record within management
