We are seeking a dedicated Contractor Compliance Officer to oversee and manage contractor operations across the College's estate. This role is crucial for ensuring that all contracting work complies with our operational standards and procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the selection, induction, and management of contractors, ensuring that all works are carried out efficiently and in compliance with our value for money and tendering requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Discharge key responsibilities under the College’s Control of Contractors procedure, ensuring competent contractors are selected.
  • Manage the issuing and controlling of permits to work, and the production and updating of contractor documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with the controls detailed within the contractor risk assessment and method statement, both prior to the commencement of any work and through regular monitoring of ongoing works.
  • Handle the selection, induction, and management of contractors across the College’s estate, ensuring compliance with the College’s value for money and tendering requirements.
  • Ensure that, upon completion of works, all appropriate documentation is received and logged by the College and the work completed is evaluated in accordance with the College’s contract review processes.
  • Maintain central records for all regular maintenance and inspection works and ensure that required regular inspections are completed on a timely and cost-effective basis.
  • Select and maintain Approved Contractors to simplify the process of quoting and tendering for regular maintenance work.
  • Assist the Associate Principal with oversight of all contracted out estates services, including catering and cleaning.
  • Assist the Estates Manager with planning for short and medium-term maintenance requirements across the College’s estate.
  • Support the Associate Principal and Estates Manager with practical arrangements in relation to major building projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in contractor management and compliance within a similar environment.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in handling multiple tasks and maintaining high levels of organisation and accuracy.
  • Proficient in the use of standard office software and contractor management systems.
