Are you passionate about making education accessible for all? We’re working with a fantastic college in Cambridgeshire that’s looking for a Communication Support Worker (CSW) to join their Learning Support team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of deaf and hearing-impaired students.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Supporting students with hearing impairments in and out of the classroom
- Using BSL/SSE, note-taking, lip speaking, and language modification to aid communication
- Collaborating with teaching staff to adapt materials and teaching methods
- Advising on communication strategies for trips and extracurricular activities
- Assisting with technical aids like minicom and radio aids
- Supporting students during exams and assessments
- Transcribing videos and preparing tailored learning resources
What we’re looking for:
- BSL Level 3 (or working towards it)
- Experience with SEND is a plus
- Minimum GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- A formal CSW qualification is desirable but not essential
