Afternoon Shift CNC Operator – Sliding Head (Fanuc Controls)
Location: RedditchSalary: £30,000 – £36,000Shift: Afternoon
A well-established precision engineering company is looking for a skilled CNC Operator to join their afternoon shift team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a machinist with sliding head experience and a solid understanding of Fanuc controls to work with high-spec machinery in a clean, well-organised environment.
Key Machines (in order of priority):
- Hanwha
- Star
- Tornos
- CitizenAll machines are equipped with milling capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain sliding head CNC machines using Fanuc controls
- Perform basic setups and adjust offsets and inserts as needed
- Conduct regular quality checks using gauging, micrometres, and verniers
- Load material and monitor production runs
- Maintain setup integrity and ensure consistent part quality
Advantageous Skills:
- Ability to change milling cutters, drills, and taps
- Experience using shadowgraph and non-digital bore micrometres
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Proven experience operating sliding head CNC machines
- Strong familiarity with Fanuc control systems
- Good understanding of quality control procedures
- Ability to work independently and maintain production efficiency
