We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils' holistic development, including their social, emotional, and academic growth. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to deliver educational activities, manage classroom environments, and engage with pupils in a variety of settings including classrooms and outdoor play areas.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Support pupils in developing essential skills, focusing on both social and emotional development.
  • Deliver and assist in specific learning activities, helping pupils progress towards their educational goals.
  • Supervise pupils during indoor and outdoor play to ensure a safe and conducive play environment.
  • Prepare and maintain the cleanliness and organisation of lunch and break areas before and after meals.
  • Provide necessary personal care to pupils, such as toileting and feeding, while promoting independence and maintaining high standards of hygiene.
  • Participate in extracurricular and off-site activities during school hours to enhance pupils' learning experiences.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of educational materials, including sourcing from the internet, printing, and preparing resources for classroom use.
  • Manage classroom resources, ensuring that stationery and materials are well-organised and readily available.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive community.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge, particularly in areas such as autism spectrum disorders and associated disabilities.
  • Perform additional tasks as reasonably required, aligning with the role's expectations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a teaching assistant role or similar educational position is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the needs and development of children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
