Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual audit process, ensuring full ownership and timely delivery.
  • Oversee all statutory filings including accounts and confirmation statements.
  • Ensure tax compliance across VAT, PAYE, and other obligations.
  • Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of internal financial reporting, including monthly P&L.
  • Lead weekly KPI reviews, delivering actionable insights.
  • Own budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning financial projections with strategic goals.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership and group stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular On-Hire reviews to validate data integrity in financial systems.
  • Many other commercial, strategic and operational duties.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Data Management: Proven ability to manage and interpret large financial datasets to drive strategic decisions.
  • IT Systems Proficiency: High aptitude with financial systems and tools, including ERP platforms and cloud-based accounting software.
  • Power Query & Automation Expertise: Skilled in using Power Query, Excel automation, and other tools to streamline reporting and analysis.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Communication: Excellent presentation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to align financial strategy with broader business objectives.
  • Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a growing business in an integral position in a part time capacity. Experience in the construction or similar industries would be beneficial but not essential. In addition to a strong, competitive salary of up to £100,000 as an FTE, the role offers additional benefits such as 25 days annual leave (pro rated), hybrid working, medical cover and competitive pension.
