We are seeking a Chef to join our team in various Adult Social Care settings, such as residential homes, Recovery Hubs, or Extra Care Housing units. This role involves preparing, delivering, and serving freshly cooked meals that adhere to Food Safety, Healthy Eating Standards, and organisational policies.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Prepare and cook traditional style food and home-style baking, including a cooked breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, mid-afternoon snack, evening meal, and supper.
- Ensure meals are ready for the GKA or Care team to facilitate in the evenings.
- Manage food production, portion control, presentation, and service within required timescales and to agreed standards.
- Check deliveries and store all goods according to HACCP and Food Safety policies, including stock rotation.
- Pay close attention to menus and the religious or dietary needs of service users.
- Order goods and liaise with approved suppliers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in portion control, preparing, cooking, delivering, and serving meals.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, capable of managing face-to-face and telephone interactions.
- Ability to deal positively with challenging interactions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Competence in using commercial catering equipment.
- Basic Food Hygiene certification.
- A QCF/NVQ qualification or equivalent in Catering/Hospitality is preferred.
- An understanding of catering service delivery.
