Join our prestigious Global Investment Bank client as a contract CCIE level Network Engineer. The client is active in a broad range of capital markets, investment banking, and financing activities. Its clients include corporates, governments, and banks, with a growing footprint in the investor segment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • CCIE qualification preferred (candidates without CCIE who can demonstrate equivalent expertise will be considered).
  • Experience with Ansible and network automation.
  • Experience working in highly available latency-sensitive network environments utilizing multiple network (switching & routing) and security (firewall, Web Gateway & LTM) technologies.
  • Experience in capturing requirements from the business and working with multiple technical teams to identify solutions that balance business, security, availability, and resiliency requirements.
  • Experience with market brokers & direct market connectivity.
  • Implementing designs into the production environment under Change Control.
  • A sound knowledge of Arista architectures and operating systems with hands-on design and configuration experience.
  • Confident knowledge and exposure of core routing protocols, OSPF and BGP, and IP transmission modes, Unicast and Multicast.
  • Low-level log & packet analysis experience is a must.
  • Comfortable and capable of multitasking.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Implement network-as-code for the new infrastructure deployment and upskill the rest of the team on automation.
  • Build professional relationships and work with the global support to ensure efficient communication between corporate and trading networks.
  • Produce HLD and LLD documentation with continuous review to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide a handover into Operations, local and offshore, of new implementations with regular knowledge-sharing sessions to upskill and address gaps.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for team members and internal teams for incidents, requests, and changes.
  • Work closely with strategic technology partners to determine software release planning, budget submissions, and provide input for business case preparation.
  • Work with market vendors to agree on connectivity details to a standard, oversee implementation, testing, etc.
  • Ensure proper monitoring and capacity of the global network.
  • Plan and oversee work in remote sites (communicating with and managing remote hands).
  • Work with autonomy and independence but within the framework of a global support and engineering structure.
  • Maintain a close technology watch to bring innovation to markets connectivity and trading application platforms.
