Are you a reliable, proactive caretaker with experience in school settings? Are you passionate about supporting inclusive education environments? Our multi-site client in Leeds is seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join their team on a full-time basis. This role is offered through Reed Education initially, with a permanent contract available after 12 weeks for the right candidate.
About the Role:
- Location: West Leeds
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 6:00pm
- Pay: £25,584 per annum (paid weekly while with Reed)
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Contract: Temporary to Permanent (12-week transition)
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the school premises are clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained
- Opening and locking the school site, including keyholding duties
- Conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Managing deliveries and overseeing contractors on site
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous caretaking or facilities experience in a school or educational setting
- Understanding of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) environments is highly desirable
- Must drive and have access to a vehicle due to site location and occasional travel between sites
- A flexible, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and use initiative
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one through Reed)
