Are you a reliable, proactive caretaker with experience in school settings? Are you passionate about supporting inclusive education environments? Our multi-site client in Leeds is seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join their team on a full-time basis. This role is offered through Reed Education initially, with a permanent contract available after 12 weeks for the right candidate.

About the Role:

  • Location: West Leeds
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 6:00pm
  • Pay: £25,584 per annum (paid weekly while with Reed)
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Contract: Temporary to Permanent (12-week transition)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the school premises are clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained
  • Opening and locking the school site, including keyholding duties
  • Conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs
  • Managing deliveries and overseeing contractors on site
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous caretaking or facilities experience in a school or educational setting
  • Understanding of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) environments is highly desirable
  • Must drive and have access to a vehicle due to site location and occasional travel between sites
  • A flexible, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and use initiative
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one through Reed)
