Reed are currently working for a fantastic building management company who is looking to recruit a Building Safety Coordinator. You will assist the Building Safety Case Manager to develop, manage and maintain a body of safety related information, which will form the Safety Case, as required by The Building Safety Act 2022, for all higher risk buildings (HRBs). The Safety Case Coordinator will manage the existing Golden Thread of information and source additional information, which will assist the Building Safety Case Manager to draft the associated Safety Case Report. You will identify gaps in available information, instruct surveys and reports to ensure that the necessary information is available, to demonstrate that major hazards related to fire and structural safety are being managed effectively, therefore reducing the likelihood of major incidents.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate safety related information, to form the Safety Case and inform the Safety Case Report, required by the Building Safety Act 2022
  • Review the Golden Thread of Information and other building safety data required to support the building’s Safety Case with assistance of the Safety Case Manager
  • Register all buildings in scope of the Building Safety Act 2022 with the Building Safety Regulator
  • Coordinate the submission of the Building Assessment Certificate application with the Resident Engagement Team
  • Assist the Fire Safety Manager and Fire Safety Assistant to maintain effective scrutiny of the building safety regime
  • Draft reports as required

Expected skills to be successful in the role:

  • Previously worked in either a facilities management, housing, asset management, data analytics, compliance, construction, health and safety, or building maintenance role
  • Strong data management and interpersonal skills
  • Pragmatic and reasonable in their approach to all issues of fire and structural safety
  • Some knowledge of key fire and building safety guidance and be willing to develop a greater understanding of building safety legislation and guidance, including The Building Safety Act 2022, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, PAS 8673:2022, PAS 9980:2022
