We are seeking a dedicated Highway Structure Inspector to join our team in Rotherham. This role involves inspecting and recording the condition of various highway structures such as bridges, retaining walls, and lighting columns to manage them safely and effectively.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Inspections: Conduct General, Special, Monitoring, and Principal inspections to identify structural defects.
- Coordination: Arrange necessary access equipment for inspections and liaise with contractors and suppliers.
- Fitness: Must be physically fit to access all areas of structures and carry survey equipment.
- Data Management: Utilise AMX software for data input and retrieval.
- Program Management: Assist in managing the inspection schedule to ensure all inspections are completed timely.
- Liaison: Collaborate with clients, design teams, Network Rail, Highways England, and other structure owners.
- Supervision: Oversee contractors to ensure all work adheres to set standards.
- Support: Aid in the development of maintenance programs and manage correspondence related to bridge structures.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and development.
- Independence: Capable of working confidently alone on-site when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Certification: BICS Lantra Bridge Inspector Certification or equivalent.
