- Location: Tickhill Road Hospital, South Yorkshire
- Job Type: Full-time, 37 hours per week
We are seeking an experienced and AMHP qualified social worker or senior practitioner to join our Out of Hours Service at Tickhill Road Hospital. This role is ideal for someone looking to advance their career in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing crucial services during out of office hours.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct emergency assessments under the Mental Health Act during nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Provide immediate support and reassurance to vulnerable individuals in urgent situations.
- Work a range of shifts covering out of hours between 2pm-8am, including some weekends and on-call shifts, on a rota pattern.
- Collaborate with a team of qualified and experienced social workers to ensure effective service delivery.
- Manage crisis situations and provide stability, ensuring that urgent needs are addressed promptly and effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Social Work Degree or equivalent, registered with Social Work England.
- Approved Mental Health Professional under the 1983 Mental Health Act (as amended).
- Experience and knowledge of working with vulnerable people.
- Ability to work under pressure and organise workload effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Empowerment of service users and their carers to enable full participation.
- Knowledge of current Community Care practice and multi-agency systems of Assessment and Care Management.
- Understanding of relevant policy and recent research findings across all client specialisms.
- Commitment to anti-oppressive behaviour, practice, and management.
- Flexibility and adaptability in work and duties.
