I am excited to be representing my client, a market leader in their field, as they look to recruit a Garment Technologist on a full-time, permanent basis.
Main Function of the Position
To ensure garments meet retailer and legal requirements through accurate technical specifications, sample approvals, and effective communication with offshore manufacturers, while supporting design and development processes using 3D software.
Job Details & Benefits
- Monday-Thursday: 8:00am–5:00pm (½ hour lunch)
- Friday: 8:00am–2:00pm
- Hybrid: Option to work from home on Fridays

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with multiple retailers and offshore manufacturers, ensuring a “right first time” approach.
- Work to critical paths to meet production and shipping deadlines.
- Create workbooks/specifications for costings and buying samples.
- Request sealing samples and initial patterns; measure and check garments for internal approvals.
- Fit samples with retailers in person or via video call.
- Ensure compliance with retailer and legal standards, including risk assessments.
- Submit final production samples and relevant documentation.
- Create print patterns on Optitex for design teams and work on Optitex 3D for pattern development.
Role Requirements
- 2–5 years’ experience in a related role.
- Full driving licence is essential.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with manufacturers, retailers, and colleagues.
- Highly organised, flexible, and analytical with excellent administration skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of 3D software (Optitex/Browzwear/CLO) advantageous.
- Excel proficiency is a plus.
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
