Job Description

Our client, Trafford Council, is seeking a Team Manager to join their DoLs Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Holding overall responsibility for the DoLS team performance.
  • Responsibility for a senior practitioner (who manages the day to day running of the teams’ duties) to oversee that the daily activities are being met.
  • Liaising with social work and relevant managers to ensure those teams understand the nature of what is expected of them in terms of being able to evidence the new legislative requirements.
  • Responsibility for approving deprivation of liberty authorisations.
  • Meeting regularly with advocacy providers to ensure adequate provision where needed.
  • Maintaining frequent contact with stakeholders to ensure competing priorities do not lead to backlogs in authorisations.
  • Overseeing court of protection cases, liaising with legal services and ensuring there is no lapse in the relevant person’s authorisation.
  • Supporting the Senior Practitioner by providing regular supervisions and EPIC Check-Ins.
  • Supporting the Senior Practitioner with any complex day to day management issues.
  • Deputising for the Strategic Service Manager when needed.
  • Providing regular assurance reports for Strategic Service Manager.
  • Undertaking any other duties which are commensurate with the grade of the role, and which may be required by the service.

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience
