Job Description
** Reed exclusive ** FULL OR PART TIME
Our client is a highly reputable, small but mighty accountancy firm in Ipswich who have been providing specialist services for a quarter of a century to clients in and around Suffolk. Due to their success and ever-expanding clientele the firm have engaged Reed Practice exclusively to recruit an Accountant to join their friendly, talented and supportive team.
The role of Accountant can be fluid, with the level of responsibilities reflecting your experience; you may be a junior, studying your professional exams - full study support is on offer if so - or have completed all exams and looking to work where you are appreciated and you can really add value to both your clients and employer.
For those at a less senior level there is an opportunity to progress in to managing your own portfolio. For those who have managed your own clients, a chance to work immediately alongside the Partner to develop as well. Tasks will include -
- Managing a client portfolio or assisting senior team members
- Responsible for the preparation of limited company accounts on CCH from planning to completion
- Preparation of corporation tax computations and CT600’s.
- Preparation of sole traders and partnership accounts
- Preparation of self-assessment and partnership tax returns
- Management accounts.
- Solid knowledge of Xero
- Completing and filing VAT returns, resolving any queries between clients and HMRC
- Attending meetings with clients where appropriate
- Knowledge of payroll would be an advantage but not essential
You will be AAT /ACCA qualified, ideally, or part/fully, and have experience of providing accounting services to UK regulations within an accountancy practice.
Experience of Xero is highly desired, as well a general flair for accountancy software.
** Salary can be negotiated - please contact Natalie Harden at REED for an initial discussion.
Unfortunately our client is not registered to offer sponsored work visas therefore we can only accept applications to those who can work in the UK with no restrictions.
