We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Shift Technician to join our facilities maintenance team. You will be responsible for Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, and emergency works on mechanical systems within a high-profile site. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, ensuring system reliability and compliance with safety standards. You will have the opportunity to work across building maintenance, critical environments, and corporate facilities, enhancing your expertise in diverse settings.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
- Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on HVAC, heating, ventilation, air handling units, water treatment systems, pumps, and associated mechanical systems.
- Conduct BMS checks and report any issues to the Shift Leader.
- Respond efficiently to helpdesk calls and mechanical system breakdowns.
- Oversee and coordinate specialist subcontractors when required.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Assist other trades where necessary and support wider contract growth opportunities.
What we’re looking for:
- NVQ Level 2-3 or City & Guilds qualification in a Mechanical discipline (e.g., Heating & Ventilation 6018).
- 10+ years\’ experience in mechanical maintenance within a facilities or building services environment.
- Strong working knowledge of air handling units, BMS, water treatment, emergency generators, and HVAC systems.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Reliable, adaptable, and calm under pressure.
- Physically fit to handle manual tasks.
