Job Description
A global investment bank is currently recruiting a highly skilled Director to join their Structured Products & Distribution (SPD) team within the Shipping & Offshore Finance Group.
This role focuses on Structured Leasing Solutions, developing and executing innovative financing structures for their global shipping and intermodal clients.
You will play a key part in origination, structuring, and implementation of complex leasing and structured finance transactions, while collaborating with senior bankers and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and structure tax-based and accounts-based leasing solutions, including sale and leaseback transactions and residual value guarantees.
- Develop financial models and prepare credit papers, analytical memoranda, and supporting documentation for internal approvals.
- Execute mandates, negotiate documentation, and manage relationships with law firms, accountancy firms, and other advisors.
- Oversee ongoing administration of executed transactions, including waivers, amendments, and restructurings.
- Support the development of bespoke distribution channels and contribute to capital market solutions for shipping clients.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and internal requirements, completing mandatory training as required.
The ideal candidate
- Education: Degree-level qualification; Chartered Accountancy (ICAEW or equivalent) and/or Chartered Tax qualification (CIOT or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in an international accountancy firm
- Proven track record in cross-border structured finance transactions, ideally within the transportation sector.
- Familiarity with tax-based or accounts-based financing structures.
- Skills:
- Strong financial modelling and IT literacy (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to pitch clients and manage relationships.
- Organisational and project management skills to coordinate large, complex transactions.
- Commercial acumen and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
