Job Description
An IT Systems Engineer is required for our client based in Leeds. This is a hybrid position, 3 days on site approx. (to be discussed during interview). There will also be an element of out-of-hours/on call duties (very occasionally called out).
Our client is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with a focus on networking and Microsoft Azure technologies, to join their 3rd line team of System Engineers. The ideal candidate will become one of the subject matter experts in networking and Azure, but will also be involved in a breadth of technologies they manage. The client will provide training and mentoring to cover any gaps in skills.
Essential Knowledge and Skills;
- Networking – Configuring and managing Switches, Routers and Firewalls. (preferably with experience of Meraki, Cisco and Palo Alto products)
- Azure – Configuring and managing Azure IaaS and PaaS services including Servers, networking, application gateways, conditional access and EntraID.
Following Microsoft best practices in the configuring and securing Azure resources.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills;
Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and Intune.
Active Directory
Veeam backup and recovery
Microsoft SCCM
VMware Vsphere
Desirable Qualifications;
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)/Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or other equivalent networking qualification
AZ104 – Microsoft Azure Administrator
AZ 700 – Azure Network Engineer
