Please Note, these roles are expressions of interest only at this point. We are currently working on a number of exciting opportunities within this area and are looking to build a pipeline of talent to allow us to work quickly upon contract award. What is this role about?

An Employment Adviser will manage a caseload of Participants, primarily made up of individuals with complex barriers to finding or sustaining employment, including those with a disability or health condition. An Employment Adviser will use a variety of techniques including effective diagnosis, individual coaching and training, action planning and Health & Wellbeing Support to provide intensive personal employment support and achieve sustainable employment.

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Attraction & Enlisting

Attraction and Enlisting normally includes developing and maintaining strong relationships with referral organisations such as Clinical Teams. It may also include conducting outreach activity such as running events/sessions at community organisations, attending job fairs and employer events and other direct promotional activity within the community.

Engagement & Diagnosis

Employment Advisers plan for their appointments with Participants to ensure effective use of time, rapport building and an adequate two-way exchange with the Participant. Employment Advisers will identify Participants goals, aspirations, first level barriers either directly or through internal and external contacts

Participant Progression

Progression includes in the main sustainable employment but also includes job search skills, strategy, empowerment, confidence. Employment Advisers support their caseload to progress towards and into work as quickly as possible, putting support in place as required prior to and once in work.

Training Delivery

As well as providing 1-to-1 advice and guidance the Employment Advisers may be required to facilitate training sessions. Training delivery involves imparting information to Learners in an interesting, engaging and empowering manner, to meet the Learners' needs and learning styles.

Employer Vacancy Development

Employment Advisers sell the benefits of Reed in Partnership, the programme, or a specific Participant to Employers to achieve a placement. They will research the individual Employer assessment process preparing the candidate accordingly. Employment Advisers will manage relationships with Employers and negotiate the process to ensure placement, following up with both the Participant and the Employer to ensure a smooth transition and employment.?

In Work Support

Employment Advisers conduct risk assessments on their Participant to identify the appropriate levels of support required. Employment Advisers mentor Participants through employment maintaining regular contact with the Participant and the Employer.?

Administration & Quality

Employment Advisers ensure accurate and timely recording and review of all Participant details and requirements through every intervention.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:

  • Experience of working in a customer facing environment, e.g. Customer Services Assistant, Retail Assistant
  • Practical experience of working directly with people with moderate to severe disabilities and/or mental health issues, preferably in the field of employment related services, and with a proven track record of personally delivering recognised outcomes
  • Experience of working in a performance target driven environment. Examples of such experience may include working as an Employment Adviser on a similar contract, being a Recruitment Consultant or experience of Business Development roles, sales targets in a retail business or call centre etc.
  • A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage
