Business Manager - Electronic Trading Venues

A global investment bank is currently recruiting a Business Manager within Electronic Trading Values on a permanent basis.

They are based in Liverpool street and offer hybrid working with 3 days attendance required per week.

They are interested to speak to Business Managers who may operate in different divisions (FX, FI or equities for example) provided you have an understanding of electronic trading. This could be for another bank, broker or trading vendor.

The role will have a lot of autonomy with a nice mix of BAU and project work. You would need to have excellent attention to detail and be confident to build relationships across the bank. Strong problem solving skills are a must as well.

About the role

They are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join the Electronic Trading Venue Management team, a pivotal unit forming the first line of defence in the governance and operational framework of electronic trading venues. This role offers exposure to front-office trading initiatives and close collaboration with cross-functional teams including COO Trading, GMD, and the Electronic Client Connectivity Team.

As part of a growing space in the global FICC and Equities landscape, you’ll help manage the onboarding and governance of trading venues, working to ensure both regulatory and internal requirements are met to support safe and efficient electronic execution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the onboarding and annual recertification of traders on electronic trading venues, including processing personal identifiable information (PII).
• Oversee the approved trading venue list (Databroker) and maintain relationships with associated market counterparties.
• Collaborate with internal departments to implement trading venue requirements, such as due diligence, rulebook adherence, and audit preparations.
• Own and maintain the eTAP template and related platform onboarding policies, working in partnership with second line of defence functions.
• Build and manage a central knowledge base for venue governance, ensuring institutional memory and audit readiness.
• Implement frameworks with CLD and CPL/FS to minimise settlement risk and manage counterparty relationships effectively.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects including control framework development and commercial initiatives related to venue access and management.

What they are looking for

• Experience or interest in electronic trading infrastructure, compliance, or trading operations.
• Strong organisational skills and a knack for managing multiple process-driven workstreams.
• Comfort working across departments and communicating with both commercial and control functions.
• Knowledge of regulatory expectations related to algorithmic and electronic execution is a plus.
• Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and a high level of data sensitivity and process integrity.
